POST 4: FREE TOPIC
This post is a free topic, which means that we can write about anything we want--as long as the post is clearly dedicated to a topic.
I'm going to write about something that has interested me for some time, and is actually getting more interesting for me as I get older: having a good diet or good eating habits.
I'm lucky that I grew up with parents who had generally good food habits. We didn't eat a lot of junk food, just occasionally a hamburger or pizza or something. Also, my mom hated sweets so we never really had any at home even though I loved them, and when I was a kid I really loved visiting friends because I wanted to eat their cookies or chocolates...hahaha. Nowadays, I can be grateful that I grew up eating regular meals with salads, some meat--basically regular food.
The reason I say regular food is that I think it's best, or for me it's best, to try to eat mostly basic foods. Foods that exist more or less naturally without a lot of processing. Generally my diet consists of a lot of legumes (lentils, garbanzos), vegetables, some fruit, some meat--including fish, eggs, chicken, some dairy--mostly in the form of cheese because I don't really drink milk. I try to keep sugar consumption to a minimum, and also keep consumption of "empty" carbohydrates--bread, rice, potatoes low. I don't eliminate them completely, but just don't eat too much. I try not to be too extreme, just eat some things like cakes, doritos, or ice cream more on "special occasions."
I think that as you get older, you become more aware of this because you start to realize that the quality of your life depends a lot on your habits (and some luck). When I was younger, I didn't think too much about this.
One habit I have, that I know is controversial, is that I don't usually eat anything until around 1 or 2 pm. I get up early and pass the first 6 or 7 hours without eating anything--I just drink coffee or water. I function really well this way and don't feel full. I never really liked eating breakfast because I'm not hungry, and I have heard and read that you just shouldn't eat if you're not hungry, so I follow my body and don't eat. My results have been good. Of course, I eat breakfast sometimes if I'm visiting and I should do it to be polite. Basically, I try to listen to my body.
Hi teacher
ResponderEliminarI feel very identified with your post because this year I stopped eating meat ,and decided to visit a nutritionist who will help me with my eating habits.
When you eat well, drink water and exercise, your body feels great and your mental health improves completely.
regards :)
I love sweets too, but lately I have had to give them up due to pre-diabetes issues. So I've been improving my eating habits.
ResponderEliminarHi teacher, I think that we are moving for a similar way. Personally I usually like so much the healthy food so it´s easier for me keeping good eating habits.
ResponderEliminarHi teacher, I think that as we grow we become more aware of the importance of having a good diet. For my part, a few years ago I started to have a vegan diet so I had to change my eating habits completely
ResponderEliminarHello teacher, I agree that having good habits is very important to maintain a good quality of life. In my case, I have been a vegetarian since I was 14 years old, so I had to change some eating habits.

ResponderEliminarHello teacher :)
I am very happy to know that you lead that lifestyle, food is closely linked to health, if people had that awareness there would be fewer diseases.
I don't like pulses, but eating pulses in salads and other preparations that alter the taste is important to stay healthy.
ResponderEliminarHello teacher, I agree that having good habits helps us to improve in old age, for my part I have started to give up foods with a lot of sugar.
ResponderEliminarHi teacher, eat healthy is the base for a good health, more sport and physical activities, is the key for the win
ResponderEliminarHi teacher! I admire you very much, I fight against the urge to eat French fries haha.

ResponderEliminarHi professor, one of my favorite foods are lentils, apart from being a healthy food they are also very delicious, in my house we eat legumes three times a week and i love it.
ResponderEliminarSomething similar happened to me with the candy in my house jajsaj but like you, I feel that they were good habits that now I am grateful for :))))))))))))))
ResponderEliminarIn my house we don't eat junk food either, but I usually eat very little junk food because I don't like the typical junk food and I prefer fruits and vegetables over them
ResponderEliminarHello teacher! It is very important to have a balanced diet and listen to the body in terms of the needs of nutrients and essential foods for our body.
ResponderEliminarWell, as far as I know, the most important meal during the day is breakfast, according to many sources, I don't remember exactly why, something about energy consumed during sleep i think. Because of that i never miss that meal even if mean i'm late to some important thing.
ResponderEliminarwow, I have the same thing! I don't like to eat breakfast because I usually don't wake up hungry but I've always forced myself to do it bc people always says that breakfast "is the most important meal of the day" :'(
ResponderEliminarHi sir! I definitely relate to your post, since in the past years I have also started to became more aware of my body and what I eat. I also almost never eat breakfast in the morning, but during lunch I try to eat salads and healthier food as well.
ResponderEliminarI only like lentils, the truth is that I don't like other legumes at all.
ResponderEliminarI like healthy food too, but I'm too lasy to cook. So, if I make some salad or charquicán, I prepare a lot -and the same with other meals.
ResponderEliminarHi teacher! Eating healthy is one of my many goals for this years. Honestly, it is one of the hardest things that i have ever done
ResponderEliminarI also just drink water on the morning! i thought it was a weird habit.
ResponderEliminarHellos teacher, I also like to eat healthy food a lot, but only during week days, during the weekend I like to have my cheat days.
ResponderEliminarI´m glad that you have those nice habits, I would like to have them too because I eat a lot of junk food and my health is probably at risk :(
ResponderEliminarHello, Professor. I think I, like you, grew up with balanced meals. The difference is that my family loves all kinds of sweets and unhealthy food, so for celebrations our diet becomes totally unbalanced.

ResponderEliminarHi teacher! I heard that fasting in the morning help to keep the body alkaline, and that is much better for your health! 😎
ResponderEliminarMaria Paz Guzmán: How interesting your way of seeing the way you eat, and I find that it is healthy to learn to listen to the body. I've had a hard time eating lately but because of nerves.
